The Art of Business

The Art of Business

Sometimes, your art has to take a backseat to the business of it all. As an artist, one of the biggest knocks against us is that we’re often more focused on creating than managing the business side of things. It’s a fair critique.

With the artistry side of my clothing line complete, it’s all business from here on out. And let me tell you, the artist in me is kicking and screaming! But rather than fight it, I’ve decided to channel that creative energy into something just as important: marketing and packaging. If I can’t create new designs right now, I’ll pour my creativity into how I present what I already have to the world.

I’ve set a bold goal for myself: I won’t release another hoodie design until I’ve sold 500 of the current one—and I plan to hit that mark in the next 30 days. That means a LOT of energy is about to go into making this happen.

In Grant Cardone’s book The 10X Rule, he talks about how people often don’t achieve their goals because they aim too small or give themselves too much time to accomplish them. That resonated with me. So here I am, going big and going fast.

For now, it’s time to embrace the art of business. After all, this part of the journey requires just as much passion and creativity as designing. Let’s get it!
